HAPPY MONDAY!
Mondays are my favorite, it’s a fresh start to the new week and it’s the perfect way to set the tone for your whole week and get motivated. I received a request to do a blog post on the daily boss babe routine, I’m going to share my daily routine with you, a little disclaimer sometimes being your own boss isn’t always as glam as it seems.
Being your own boss sometimes is difficult you have to know when to fire yourself and rehire yourself! LOL.
My daily routine changes pretty often, but I’m going to share with you guys the typical day in the life of a “boss babe”
First thing in the morning I like to start my diffuser, take my vitamins, get a big glass of water and I add lemon and chlorofresh, wash my face, brush my teeth and clean up my room and workspace. Your probably thinking to yourself why I included this in my daily routine as a boss babe, but it’s because it’s SO important to include self-care and start the day on a positive note and I personally can’t work when my space is a mess or if I’m not feeling good about myself.
After I tidy up and get myself together, I like to check my emails and respond to the important ones, I also like to make a to-do list so I stay on track for the day. After I do that depending on my schedule for the day, I go to my suite and I usually have a few clients to do hair or spray tans, after I’m done at the suite I clean the suite up and organize it so the next day it’s all ready to work in again. I always make sure I am taking photos of my clients, I like to take before and after pictures so I can post my work on my social medias. Sometimes I have to go to the post office ( or I send Tony) LOL and I ship halos to clients, I have clients email me from youtube or sometimes my blog or insta, wherever they find me, I have quite a few halo clients out-of-state and I place their halo orders and then ship them out to them.
When I am finished at the suite, I like go home and either do a blog post or film a video for youtube. Now all of this sounds nice and easy but when I’m filming for youtube, I have to film the video, then edit it, which I am not super tech savvy or good at editing so this can take some time. As for blog posts, I really enjoy to write at night in bed in my pjs with a face mask on, my mind works the best at night. Blogging can be difficult too, I personally like to write the way I speak and make sure I’m sharing value with you guys, sometimes it can be hard to think of a specific topic. I must have picture content, which I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can start going places and shooting cool pics for blonde hustle.
At night once I’m finished working, I go to a booty class and get a nice work out in, if I’m not going to a workout class, I like to meet a friend at the gym and do some workouts with weights and do some cardio. This gives me a break from work and lets my mind have a break and step away from work. When you are your own boss, your mind really never turns off!!! You are always working, thinking of new ideas, new posts etc, so it’s super important to find time in the day to just step away from work and shut your mind off.
When I come home shower put pjs on and just stay on instagram for a while( I like to connect with other bloggers or like minded women) or read blog posts, read a book. I try to go to sleep by midnight but sometimes my mind has other plans and I usually try to get a blog posts up. I really try to stick to a routine for the most part but my days really can look different, sometimes I’m running errands, sometimes I’m working from home, sometimes I’m at my suite all day long, I also watch my godson often so when I’m watching him, I just bring my laptop, my books, calendar, and notebooks with me and try to get work done when he’s asleep or at school.
Being your own boss may sound glamorous but there are days when you really are in a funk and have to motivate yourself, you have no one telling you that you have to be at work or what you have to do. You have to make yourself do it all on your own, you have to stay super organized and just keep pushing yourself. There are days where you’ll feel so overwhelmed and stressed out because your brain really never turns off when you work for yourself. You will have to fire yourself and rehire yourself the next day a million times!!! It truly is a roller coaster being an entrepreneur, one second your like YASSSS everything is going so great I’m rolling in the dough, the next second your like oh shit everything is falling apart, my business is slow, I have so much to do I can’t do it and then the cycle just keeps repeating! You have to know how to evolve, educate yourself, and stay motivated. I wouldn’t trade being my own boss for the world even on the tough days because the most rewarding part is the freedom.
If you guys have any other questions feel free to comment below or email me, I will do a series of ” The day in the life of a boss babe” if you want more posts like this just let me know if that is something you would be interested in.
xx
